Pupatella pizzeria has announced growth plans.
The pizza concept is looking to move into Virginia, North Carolina, Delaware and Middle Eastern markets, according to a release.
Husband and wife founders, Enzo Algarme and Anastasiya Lufenberg, launched the concept as a food truck in 2007. After producing almost 2.5 million dollars in gross sales in 2015, the founders are partnering with Elevation Burger founders to further expand.
"Cooking was a huge part of my upbringing in Italy and I felt a calling to start a business that was true to my roots. We've experienced tremendous success, with lines out the door everyday, and I feel confident that our pizza will be embraced around the world as we move forward with our expansion plans," said Algarme.
Pupatella is VPN certified by the Associazione Verace Napoletana, highlighting its 200-year-old Neapolitan cooking technique.
