Q1 comps up 1.5% at Pizza Huts in Australia, New Zealand

AUCKLAND, N.Z.—Restaurant Brands, franchisee of Pizza Hut units in Australia and New Zealand, said comparable-store sales for the pizza chain were up 1.5 percent for the first 12 weeks of its current fiscal year.

According to the New Zealand Herald, chainwide sales for Pizza Hut were $27 million (U.S. $18.9 million) up 4.9 percent, helped along by sales improvements in New Zealand and Australia, where the chain continues to revitalize its operations.

Pizza Hut's New Zealand sales rose 4.9 percent for the period to $19.8 million (U.S. $13.8 million), while its Australian stores racked up sales of $7.2 million (U.S. $5 million), a 12.2 percent improvement on the previous year.
