HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.—Chicago Pizza & Brewery, Inc. announced same-store sales at its BJ's Brewhouse restaurants rose 3.4 percent for its third quarter, ended Sept. 28, 2003.
Revenues for the period were up 40.5 percent, helped along largely by seven new restaurant openings (in California and Texas) since the comparable period in 2002. Revenue for Q3 '03 was $26.7 million, versus $19 million in Q3 '02.
Net income for the period was $968,000, a 133.8 percent increase over the comparable period's $414,000.
Year to date, the company's revenues are up 38.9 percent to $76 million, compared to $54.7 million in the comparable period in 2002. The company credited the boost to new restaurant openings.
Chicago Pizza & Brewery, Inc. operates 32 casual dining restaurants, some of which incorporate brewpubs.
