Ohio-based Romeo's Pizza — matching trends in the pizza industry — found renewed customer interest and elevated popularity of pickup and delivery formats this past year, when it said in a news release it saw 18.4% same store-sales growth and more than 23% total company sales growth. The success is leading the company to announce its intent on continuing expansion, beyond the 60 locations it expects to have open by the end of next year, including six new locations that have opened during the pandemic.

Longer-term, the company expects to grow to 250 franchise locations in the next five years, following 90 units recently sold global locations.

"Instead of making our team complacent, our record sales have only reaffirmed that our franchisee-first focus is the right path forward," said Romeo's Pizza CEO Ryan Rose said in the release.

"With our local Pizza Champions and unified corporate team, Romeo's Pizza has never had a clearer path forward."

The brand said it is reaffirming its commitment to its team and its surrounding communities. As part of their purpose to give back, local "Pizza Champions" for the brand are encouraged and empowered to engage in outreach efforts in their local communities, ranging from youth athletic programs to supporting first responders in their fight against the pandemic. From a higher level,

Romeo's Pizza has long-supported environmental and employment assistance cause organizations, as well.

Guided by five new core values focused on handcrafted excellence, the positivity of pizza and the impact the brand can have on its communities and environment, Romeo's feels it's set for a solid path of future growth.
