Russo's New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen, a restaurant chain known for its family recipes and New York-style pizza, plans to open multiple locations in California this summer, according to a press release.
Franchisees Dr. Shaukat Shah and his son Asad Shah will open the restaurants in San Joaquin, Danville, Stockton and Modesto. The eateries will feature an open kitchen design, a large outdoor patio and a menu offering Russo's signature thin-crust pizzas, pasta dishes and other Italian fare.
The California locations will range from 1,500 to 2,000 square feet and boast unique menu items alongside Russo's classics. Diners can expect offerings like truffle arancini, crispy fried eggplant chips and the 28-inch party pizza that serves up to 10 people.
"During our visit to Russo's location in Houston, Texas, Russo's truly stood out among the competition," Shaukat Shah, said in the release. "The exceptional quality of ingredients and flavors convinced us to choose Russo's for our franchise venture."
Russo's Founder and CEO Chef Anthony Russo is excited to expand the brand's presence in California. "We pride ourselves on using my family's classic Italian recipes and the freshest ingredients to create a unique and delicious product," Russo said in the release.
The California expansion marks Russo's continued growth. With over 56 locations across several states, the brand has doubled its footprint in recent years and identified over 200 potential U.S. locations for future development.
