Sabert Corporation announced today that Founder and CEO Albert Salama received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 Award in the Excellence in Distribution and Manufacturing category in the New Jersey region. Salama was selected by an independent panel of judges comprised of previous award recipients, prominent CEOs, private capital investors and other regional business leaders, according to a news release.
Salama founded Sabert 31 years ago by selling plastic food trays out of his apartment. Today, Sabert is one of the largest providers of short-life food containers.
As the New Jersey region award winner, Salama is now eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the Entrepreneur of the Year National Overall Winner, will be announced on Nov. 15.
