MELVILLE, N.Y.—Comparable-store sales at the pizza-centered Sbarro chain rose 6 percent for the 16 weeks ended April 23 versus 2 percent last year.
According to a regulatory filing, revenue rose to $100.2 million from $96.5 million, but the company lost $2.5 million in the period versus $5.7 million last year.
Sbarro credited an overall sales increase to selective price increases and improvements in operations.
