Sbarro plans 80 Brazilian locations in next 10 years
Sbarro announced it will partner with B2Bold to open 80 eateries in Brazil throughout the next 10 years. This marks the second development agreement for Sbarro in Brazil. Dubai Comercio e Representacoe, Sbarro's first franchise partner in Brazil, has built four units in the past year under a 20 store development agreement signed in 2013.
The B2Bold partnership adds to Sbarro's growing presence in South America, following new openings in both Columbia and Bolivia during the past two years.
According to a news release, partners Fabio Calderon, Fernnando Bauman and Marcelo Calderon, along with B2Bold Director of Development Eduardo Morita kick off the partnership this year, with the first location scheduled to open by the end of 2014. B2Bold plans to open an additional 79 restaurants in Sao Paulo, Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais, Espirito Santo and Rio de Janeiro by 2024.
"The partnership with B2Bold is one of the largest expansion partnerships we've forged in recent years," Sbarro President J. David Karam said in the release. "We're excited to grow our brand in this market with such a prestigious partner."
By the end of 2014, the company will have more than 10 locations in South America with plans for continued growth throughout 2015.
