MELVILLE, N.Y. — Comparable-store sales at Sbarro rose 2.2 percent for the 16 weeks ended April 24, but the pizza and Italian food chain lost $5.7 million in the quarter.
According to a regulatory filing, revenue rose slightly in the quarter to $96.5 million, up from $96.2 million in the same period in 2004.
Last year Sbarro posted a $6.1 million first quarter loss.
