PITTSBURG, Kan. — NPC International Chairman Gene Bicknell announced that the Pizza Hut mega-franchisee has named Jim Schwartz its CEO.
According to a news release, in his new role, Schwartz will continue as president and oversee the 793-unit company's day-to-day operations.
Bicknell, the previous CEO, will retain his title of chairman of the board.
Schwartz joined NPC International in 1991 as vice president of administration. He was promoted to chief financial officer in 1993, and then to president and chief operating officer in 1995.
"Jim has ... worked diligently with our operations team to continually improve our customer operations metrics while presiding over unprecedented growth," said Bicknell. "In short, our company has prospered because he is very focused on our people, our customers and our stakeholders."
As the world's largest Pizza Hut franchisee, NPC operates pizzerias in 26 states.
