Jeet App, which allows diners to see photos of menu items before ordering, has hit the app store, a news release said.

"Most traditional restaurant menus don't have pictures, and people eat with their eyes," Jeet Co-founder Dave Compton said in the release. "Ordering food off of a menu is one of the only purchases most consumers make 'sight unseen.'

"Jeet has millions of pictures of menu items for nearly every restaurant in the world. Now you can see what you are ordering."

Another benefit is that it's more hygienic than a traditional printed menu, a particularly timely concern for diners in the wake of the pandemic, according to the release.

The company behind the app describes itself as a "collaboration of foodies, engineers and long-time restaurant industry individuals from Los Angeles, California and Alexandria, Egypt."
