A special dough and cooking process are some of the secrets behind Indiana-based Azzip Pizza's launch of a boxy personal pizza, appropriately dubbed the Square Zip, according to a news release.
The 7-inch-square pie bakes in two and a half minutes and made with a high-hydration dough and twice-baked process that creates a fluffy inside and crispy bottom with a buttery flavor that's augmented by the pie's triple-cheese blend that caramelizes on the pizza's edges. The Azzip team said the pizza was created an alternative to the pies made on the brand's circular flaky crust.
"Our whole team has worked so hard over these past couple of months to get this right," Founder Brad Niemeier said in the release. "This was not an easy change to pull off, but I think we nailed it with the quality and deliciousness that you know from Azzip. I can't wait for you to get in and try it."
The addition can be ordered with the customer's own combination of toppings, or as four other so-called "SQR Picks," each including the brand's three-cheese blend and other toppers including:
The Square Zip is now available in Evansville, Newburgh, and Terre Haute, Indiana, Bowling Green and Owensboro, Kentucky, and will be available in Lafayette, Bloomington, and Greenwood, Indiana at the beginning of June.
