Spring and pizza specials are in the air

As spring rolls in, pizza restaurateurs are rolling out new and often lighter menus to go with the warmer days ahead. At Ledo Pizza, the spring menu launched this week highlights the brand's partnership with King's Hawaiian for sandwiches and sweet rolls, according to a news release. All of the following combinations come on King's Hawaiian bread:

• The Buffalo Chicken ($6.99) — Crispy chicken tossed in buffalo sauce, topped with pickles with blue cheese or ranch dressing on the side.
• Chicken Caprese ($6.99) — Grilled chicken breast, sliced tomato, basil, smoked provolone cheese and garlic herb aioli.
• Aioli Grilled Chicken ($6.99) — Grilled chicken breast, smoked provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato and garlic herb aioli.
• American Steak and Cheese ($5.99) — Ledo steak, smoked provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo.
• Classic Grilled Ham and Cheese ($5.99) — Grilled ham, American cheese and garlic herb aioli.

The brand is also bringing back its Cannonball Pizza, made with Ledo sauce, smoked provolone cheese and a half meatball on every slice, sprinkled with Parmesan and basil. The menu also features Ledo Chopped Salad and Five Cheese Tortellini, which also comes with chicken.

At Athens, Georgia-based Your Pie a warm weather favorite, barbecue chicken, is the highlight of the brand's latest Craft Series pies including BBQ Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza and BBQ Chicken Pizza, along with Key Lime Cream Pie Gelato, a news release said.

The Craft Series has been a seasonal feature of the Your Pie menu since the brand's inception in 2008. The spring offerings are available through May 30.

Lastly, at Atlanta-based Round Table Pizza, a tote-able favorite, the street taco, is the inspiration for their latest pie. The limited-time Street Taco Pizza features charred corn, chorizo, tomatoes, crema, tortilla strips, green onions, a three-cheese blend, salsa roja and lime wedges

The Street Taco Pizza is available in extra large, large, large pan, medium, personal and stuffed crust, with the large pie starting at $22.99. The brand has also partnered with Pacifico beer to make six-packs available to customers for $9.99 with any large pizza carryout or dine-in purchase. But note that this offer doesn't start until April 26.

Round Table pizza now has more than 410 stores across the country.
