Stellar Pizza receives funding from Jay-Z's venture capital group

Stellar Pizza has announced a $16.5 million Series A financing round let by record producer Jay-Z's venture capital group Marcy Venture Partners. Previously unannounced fundraising rounds totaled $9 million, led by Root Ventures with participation from Crosslink Capital and Collaborative Fund, according to a press release.

The funding enables Stellar Pizza to make strategic internal investments ahead of its pizza truck launch at the University of Southern California this fall, with additional college campuses to follow. The brand is under the direction of former SpaceX engineer and CEO Benson Tsai.
