Reuters reported about a restaurant in Rome whose food is truly cooked "al dente."
In December of 2000, the restaurant unknowingly sold a pizza with a human tooth baked into the crust. An unlucky customer found the tooth while chewing a mouthful of pizza. He refused a complimentary dinner to make up for the mistake and paid the bill, but later sued the establishment.
Hoping to put some teeth into the restaurateur's sanitation practices, a judge took a bite out of his bank account by fining him $4,000.
** In Prague, a 32-year-old pizzeria customer set out to get free beer by hiding inside the place until the staff left on the night of Jan. 19. When the coast was clear, the man broke into a refrigerator that contained a keg. According to a Sapa-AP report, when the cleaning crew arrived the next morning, they found the man asleep. When awakened, he was still drunk from the evening's events.
A police spokesman said the man will have to pay for the beer and will face a fine.
