SAN RAMON, Calif.—The Straw Hat Pizza Cooperative announced that Allen Strege is returning to the 50-unit company as its northern area director.
According to a news release, Strege oversaw several Straw Hat locations during the company's rapid growth in the 1970s and later operated eight Chuck E. Cheese's locations. Strege was also on the concept development team for Max Sportster Restaurants, and he developed a successful resort-dining concept in California.
Strege returns to Straw Hat with designs on helping the company grow again.
"We're very pleased that Allen has rejoined the Straw Hat family," said Josh Richman, president and CEO. "I think he is a big asset for our organization and is ideally fit for our own growth plan."
Efforts are underway to reenergize the 44-year-old Straw Hat concept, the release said. Stores are getting a new design and décor package, expanded menu offerings, improved service and training formats, and an advanced marketing program.
