Yum! Brands reported Q2 results ended June 13, which showed a 3-percent growth in worldwide system sales, according to a company announcement. Worldwide restaurant margin evened out at 15.5 percent, and worldwide operating profit decreased 1 percent.
The company's total international development resulted in 291 new restaurants, 75 percent of which occurred in emerging markets, according to the report. Its China Division system sales declined 4 percent, as 7 percent unit growth was offset by a 10-percent, same-store sales decline.
KFC Division system sales increased 6 percent, driven by 2 percent unit growth and 3 percent same-store sales growth. Pizza Hut Division system sales grew by 1 percent, driven by 2 percent unit growth with even same-store sales. System sales for Taco Bell rose 9 percent, with 3 percent unit growth and 6 percent same-store sales growth.
The company's system sales for its India Division were even, as 11 percent same-store sales decline offset a 16-percent unit growth.
