Take time to give a 'Pizza Shout-Out'

Like all other restaurant brands, pizzerias of every size and shape are struggling in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and its many stringent restrictions on "business as usual." But somehow, the majority of these businesses are also managing to play strong roles in their local, national and global communities, as well as come up with amazingly clever ideas to "meet customers where they're at," which is, of course, at home. 

These are the encouraging stories that brands like Paisano's are undertaking in launching its 'Make-at-Home" pizza contest that not only brings in business but helps customers looking for things to do as they shelter at home during the pandemic. Then there are the stories of unlimited community generosity, like that of the tiny Southern Ohio mom-and-pop that took time to hand out meals to lower-income kids no longer able to access free school lunches, or the milliard of larger pizza chains that have donated thousands of meals and other supplies to frontline healthcare workers, first responders and their communities. It is the stuff that makes this business what it is and provides hope that we will get through this.

But at Pizza Marketplace, we know there are lots of initiatives out there that never see much of the proverbial "ink" that the press can devote to them.
