Toppers 'zigs' when others 'zag'

Toppers — which recently added Vegan Topperstix as part of the mass restaurant brand movement to plant-based everything — is switching gears to meat with its latest offering: prime rib.

The prime rib items include a steak 'n taters pizza made with garlic sauce, Wisconsin mozzarella, prime rib, tater tots, green onions and a cheese sauce, according to a spokeswoman for the brand.

The brand is also introducing a prime rib mac 'n cheese made with the brand's three cheese Wisconsin "Mac," prime rib, mushrooms and Parmesan garlic drizzle. Finally, Toppers has also made its Wisconsin Cheesesteak Pizza available at all locations.

These meat-eater items reach out to the carnivorous in the crowd, and follow the vegan Topperstix, which include dairy-free ingredients, as well as an assortment of vegan pizza toppings.

Toppers has about 65 locations and is based in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
