Truly Pizza has opened in Dana Point, California. The pizzeria is the brainchild of World Pizza Champions Chris Decker and John Arena of Metro Pizza in Las Vegas, Michael Vakneen and local residents Steve Steve Muller of D&S Partners LLC and owner of The Muller Company and Donna Baldwin-Muller, a developer and hospitality veteran duo, according to a press release.

"Our Truly Pizza team has worked passionately and enthusiastically to create a neighborhood pizzeria that is welcoming, service oriented and thoughtful to our customers throughout the entire guest experience." Baldwin said in the press release. "Our collective love for great pizza is what brought us together and we've all added our own flavor and expertise to create a culinary experience only found at Truly Pizza. I'm very proud of everyone's contributions from the building design to the menu development and I'm excited to share Truly Pizza with our community."

"I'm thrilled to be opening Truly Pizza with such a passionate team who continue to push the boundaries of what's possible with pizza and hospitality," Chris Decker, who recently established permanent residency in Dana Point, said in the press release "Dana Point is a community that we believe will appreciate the quality and craftsmanship that goes into our pizzas. We've dedicated ourselves to perfecting our dough which is the foundation for quality pizza, and we can't wait to share it with the people of Dana Point and beyond."

Pizzas include 12-inch offerings like the Umami Mushroom made with creamy onion and garlic sauce, smoked mozzarella, marinated wood roasted mushrooms and toasted sesame oil and Supreme Dream made with house-made vodka sauce, fresh and aged whole milk mozzarella, spicy giardiniera, cup & char pepperoni and grated Romano.

A grand opening was held on June 22.
