One pizzeria owner is making a difference at the Ukrainian-Poland border.

Ciro Orsini, a U.K. restaurateur who owns Ciro's Pizza Pomodoro, flew to the Poland border at the start of Russia's war on Ukraine to provide pizza to refugees, according a Business Insider report, as part of his charity effort, Help Children Now.

The charity is serving up to 5,000 people a day.

"They're so traumatized, they're scared," Orsini told the news outlet. "They have no food, they want something hot."

Orsini and his volunteers are baking pizzas in a wood-burning oven. In the U.K., he bakes in an electric deck. The pizzas bake in three to four minutes, and sizes vary by design. Pizza is available whole, half or by the slice.

"We work globally but think locally," Orsini told Business Insider, meaning he and his volunteers are trying to source ingredients locally.
