Uncle Ro's opens in California

Uncle Ro's has opened in the East Lake Village Shopping Center in Watsonville, California, according to a report in The Pajaronian.

The pizzeria has a small menu of eight pizzas but also sells calzones, small plates and salads, according to the news report.

It's owned by Roland Konicke who originally sold take-and-bake pizzas at farmer's markets and Whole Foods.

"I also started a mobile business where I'd bring my own wood-fired stove along with me," Konicke told the news outlet. "I've also done a ton of catering."
