Washington, D.C.-based Stellina Pizzeria's soon-to-open store in Shirlington, Virginia, has installed a refrigerated glassfront vending machine in front of the store that offers food and other items to go, according to a Washingtonian report.
The custom built machine offers pastas, pasta making kits, jars of sauce, salami, cannoli making kits, jars of tiramisu with spoons and Stellina T-shirts. An LED screen shows how to use the pasta kits.
The machine accepts credit cards and integrates with an app that could enable the user to scan their ID to verify their age.
The machine is available from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends and until 8 p.m. on weekdays, and will be available longer hours once the restaurant opens.
Owner Antonio Matarazzo plans to eventually install similar machines in offices.
