Vocelli Pizza is opening a location this month in Valleydale marking the chain's second restaurant in Alabama.
The Pittsburgh-based company is partnering with franchisee Patrick Meglio for the Valleydale site, which will offer delivery and carryout services to the Shelby County corridor, including Hoover, Indian Springs and Pelham. Meglio, who also owns a location at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, plans to develop five locations across the greater Birmingham area, according to a press release.
"We are excited to continue our expansion in Alabama with franchisee and longtime entrepreneur Patrick Meglio," Toni Bianco, CEO of Vocelli Pizza, said in the release. "Patrick has done an incredible job with the University of Alabama at Birmingham location that opened in 2024, creating an engaging dining experience for students by working with organizations like Sodexo. His commitment to Vocelli Pizza and the community makes him a great partner as we grow."
Meglio has more than 36 years of franchising experience and serves as the president of National Branded Concepts.
"I'm passionate about opening new businesses and excited to bring Vocelli Pizza to communities in Alabama," Meglio said in the release. "There are many opportunities for growth, and I look forward to expanding further while also connecting with other entrepreneurs interested in opening Vocelli franchises."
The opening is part of a 2026 expansion strategy that includes 11 new locations nationwide. Other scheduled openings for the chain include a first-time entry into the Houston market in Katy, Texas, as well as new Maryland locations in Rockville and Beltsville.
Vocelli Pizza was founded in 1988 and currently operates more than 80 locations.
