Walmart turns waste into pizza boxes

Walmart has announced that it intends to recycle its cardboard waste into pizza packaging for its own take-and-bake private label, according to Supermarket News. 

Paper processing partner Pratt Industries' Myles Cohen, president of recycling division, calls the move a closed-loop step into the future.

The move, which Walmart says will save 40 million gallons of water, 125,000 trees and divert 8,600 tons of landfill waste, is being implemented at select Walmart stores.
