OLYMPIA, Wash.--The State House here passed a bill on March 6 barring customers from suing restaurants they say made them fat.
According to The Associated Press, the state restaurant association and the trial lawyers association wrangled over and then agreed upon the final language of the bill.
Gig Harbor Democrat Representative Pat Lantz said the measure simply states what most believe to be common sense: that people shouldn't hold anyone but themselves accountable for what they eat.
Washington's Senate already passed the bill, but since the House amended it, it will return to the Senate for a final vote.
