Your Pie names new CEO

Georgia-based, Your Pie, has moved its COO Dave McDougall into the brand's CEO slot, after he joined the company a little less than a year ago from former leadership positions at Back Yard Burgers, NexCen Brands, FOCUS Brands and others. The brand's former CEO, Bucky Cook will serve in what a news release said will be "an advisory capacity, continuing to support the brand's growth and development while consulting on high-level strategy."

Since he started with the brand last December, McDougall is credited with a number of initiatives across operations, marketing, technology, branding and culture.
"We've made tremendous strides in the past year, and I'm eager to continue growing the brand, supporting franchise owners and creating unique experiences for guests," McDougall said in the release. "I see tremendous potential in Your Pie and this sector of the industry and look forward to the impact we'll have in the years to come."

As CEO, McDougall will lead the brand's strategy and direction, while identifying brand priorities, managing resources and aligning operational excellence with mission, culture and values, the company said. 

Bucky Cook added that McDougall was originally hired last year for continuity planning, with no specific timeline for the leadership transition. 

"But as we began moving toward the close of 2019, we felt the timing was right to make the transition," Cook said in the release. "Our leadership team and board have been impressed with Dave since day one, and we are confident that this move will benefit Your Pie at every level of the organization. I look forward to the future of Your Pie and will continue to be available to Dave and the team for support and strategic advisement."

Your Pie currently operates more than 70 U.S. locations, with four new franchise openings since the fourth quarter began and the brand said more by year's end.
