NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.—Z Pizza, a gourmet pizza restaurant chain based here, announced plans to open more than 40 units in and around Washington, D.C.
According to a news release, the company wants to build company-owned restaurants in and around the D.C. suburb of Alexandria, and has signed five multi-unit franchise agreements in Northern Virginia.
Currently there are 25 Z Pizza restaurants in California and Nevada; a total 60 units are in development, including those in the D.C. area, and in Arizona.
The menu includes 18 unique pizzas, plus sandwiches and calzones.
