Zalat Pizza to open 8th store — in the cloud

Dallas, Texas-based Zalat Pizza will open its eighth location Thursday, July 16, on Belt Line Road in Addison, Texas, according to a news release. The brand said this store will function as another cloud kitchen for the concept, which will strictly serve delivery orders via third party delivery apps, as well as takeout through Zalat's website.
"We opened our first cloud kitchen at the start of the pandemic and have seen firsthand how relevant this model is in today's world," founder and CEO Khanh Nguyen said in the release. "Removing the dine-in element of the restaurant experience allows us to focus 100% of our energy on producing high quality pizzas quickly and efficiently.
"At max peak-times a handmade pizza leaves the restaurant every 20 seconds. Although the stay-at-home order is lifted, and establishments are reopening, we are continuing to implement health standards and safety precautions for both staff and third-party drivers alike."
Nguyen's said in the brand's ongoing commitment to its staff, which it calls its "zealots," it recently made stock options available for all employees. The first location of the brand opened five years ago in Dallas and today the brand eatures everything from pepperoni pizza to more exclusive combinations like the Pho Shizzle, Elote and Loaded Notato.
