Cheese prices climb
Cheese prices averaged a few cents more last week than in weeks prior.

Cheese Block cheese prices trended up last week on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, averaging $1.41 per pound, 3 cents more than the previous week. Prices closed at $1.39 on Monday and Tuesday, $1.41 Wednesday, $1.43 Thursday and $1.46 Friday. Wheat Prices for wheat on the Minneapolis Grain Exchange closed at $5.08 last Friday, down 22 cents from the previous Friday's close of $5.30. Prices for the rest of last week closed at $5.22 Monday, $5.27 Tuesday, $5.25 per bushel Wednesday and $5.13 on Thursday. Gasoline and diesel fuel The nationwide average for regular unleaded gasoline was $2.87 per gallon May 17, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service, down 4 cents from the previous week. Prices are relatively flat from an average of $2.86 per gallon a month ago and up 24 percent from an average of $2.31 per gallon this time last year. Mid-range unleaded currently averages $3.05 per gallon while premium unleaded as of May 17 stood at $3.15 per gallon. The nationwide average price for diesel fuel stood at $3.10 per gallon May 17, down 2 cents from the previous week. Diesel prices are up 35 percent from an average of $2.30 per gallon this time last year. Natural gas Natural gas spot prices increased at nearly all market locations in the lower 48 States, with price hikes ranging between 6 and 30 cents per million Btu (MMBtu), according to the Energy Information Administration. The Henry Hub spot price ended the report week May 12 at $4.18 per MMBtu, 18 cents higher than the preceding week.
Pizza company stocks Shares in Pizza Hut parent Yum! Brands Inc. closed at $40.57 on May 14, up 50 cents compared with the previous week's close of $40.07. YUM traded at a 52-week high of $44 in May 2010 and a 52-week low of $32.16 in May 2009. Domino's closed at $13.55, up 19 cents compared with the previous Friday's close of $13.36. DPZ has traded as high as $16.32 in May 2010 and as low as $7.05 in July 2009, over the past 52 weeks. Papa John's stock closed at $25.47, up 66 cents compared with the previous Friday's close of $24.81. PZZA traded at a 52-week high of $28.84 in May 2010 and a 52-week low of $21.44 in December 2009. Shares in CEC Entertainment Inc., parent company of Chuck E. Cheese restaurants, closed at $40.62, up $3.20 compared with the previous week's close of $37.42. CEC traded at a 52-week high of $41.61 in May 2010 and a 52-week low of $24.69 in October 2009. California Pizza Kitchen closed at $20.06 on May 14, up 18 cents from the previous week's close of $19.88. CPKI traded as high as $22.92 in May 2010 and as low as $12.29 in December 2009. Pizza Inn closed at $1.86 on May 14, down 9 cents from the previous week's close of $1.95. PZZI traded at a 52-week high of $2.25 in March 2010 and a 52-week low of $1.40 cents in May 2009.
