Last week's commodities saw a rise in prices for just about everything, with exceptions for natural gas and Pizza Hut stocks.
Here's a glimpse at the market:
Block cheese prices averaged $1.67 on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, up from $1.63 the previous week.
Prices were $1.65 Tuesday, $1.66 Wednesday, $1.68 Thursday and $1.69 Friday.
Wheat averaged $5.43 last week on the Minneapolis Grain Exchange, down nearly $0.30 from $5.70 the previous week.
Wheat closed at $5.53 Tuesday, $5.45 Wednesday, $5.47 Thursday and $5.30 Friday.
The nationwide average for regular unleaded gasoline was $2.74, remaining steady from the previous week, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
Mid-range unleaded came in at $2.95, while premium unleaded climbed to $3.14, up from $3.13 the previous week.
The nationwide average for diesel fuel is $2.88, also remaining steady from the week prior.
The prices of natural gas at most market locations fell over the report week (May 20 — May 27). The Henry Hub spot price began the week at $2.99 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), fell through the week and ended at $2.82/MMBtu.
At the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex), the June contract, which expired as the near-month contract, fell from $2.915/MMBtu to settle at expiration at $2.815/MMBtu.
Shares in Pizza Hut parent Yum! Brands Inc. closed at $90.11 Friday, down from $91.54 the previous week.
Domino's finished last week at $108 .66, up from $108.56, the previous week.
Papa John's finished at $69.78 Friday, up from $68.27 the previous week.
Papa Murphy's turned in at $17.10 Friday, up from $16.84 the previous Friday. FRSH's 52-week high came in at $20 and its low at $8.08 this year.
