Although customers are obviously deeply concerned about COVID-19, most trust that restaurants can safely produce and deliver them food. That's according to a study by Revenue Management Solutions, which polled about 1,800 potential restaurant customers in five countries — the U.S., Singapore, South Korea, the U.K. and Taiwan — hit hard by the pandemic and at various stages of economic return.
Specifically, it found that 75% of all respondents in all five countries trusted that the restaurant industry was able to safely produce and deliver meals, and eight out of 10 said restaurants have responded the right way during the COVID-19 outbreak.
RMS also asked consumers about their food-related concerns, their likelihood to order from a restaurant and how they choose a restaurant for delivery/take out. All respondents listed Employee Hygiene, Reputation and Level of Contact as top-of-mind factors when considering restaurants to eat at/from in the coming months. In Asian countries, food sourcing also ranked highly.
