Pizza chains grab a slice of the Inc. 5000

Three pizza chains have earned spots on the Inc. 5,000, the business magazine's listing of the top 5,000 fastest-growing private companies. The ranking is based on percentage revenue growth over the past three years.
America's Incredible Pizza came in at No.792 with 2008 revenue of $7.1 million and a three-year growth rate of 369.3 percent. Papa Murphy's ranked No. 2,867 with 2008 revenue of $59.5 million and a three-year growth rate of 98.9 percent.
Extreme Pizza ranked No. 3,849, with 2008 revenue of $420.8 million and a three-year growth rate of 56.9 percent.
Despite the recession, aggregate revenue among the companies on the list increased to $214 billion, up $29 billion from last year, with a median three-year growth rate of 126 percent. The Inc. 5000 are responsible for creating more than 1 million jobs since their founding.
Topping this year's list was Miami-based Northern Capital Insurance. The company generated $95 million in revenue in 2008 and a three-year growth rate of 19,812 percent.
