Pizza stocks fall slightly
Pizza Hut, California Pizza Kitchen and more dip a bit from their year-long trading highs.

Cheese Block cheese prices trended slightly up last week on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, averaging at just under $1.39 per pound. Prices rose 2 cents on average from the previous week. Prices closed at $1.37 on Monday, and $1.39 each day of the rest of the week. Wheat Prices for wheat on the Minneapolis Grain Exchange closed at $5.26 last Friday, down a cent from the previous Friday's close of $5.27.
Prices for the rest of last week closed at $5.13 Monday, $5.16 Tuesday, $5.13 per bushel Wednesday and $5.17 on Thursday. Gasoline and diesel fuel The nationwide average for regular unleaded gasoline was $2.90 per gallon May 3, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service, up 5 cents from the previous week. Prices are up 3 percent from an average of $2.82 per gallon a month ago and up 40 percent from an average of $2.07 per gallon this time last year. Mid-range unleaded currently averages $3.07 per gallon while premium unleaded as of May 3 stood at $3.18 per gallon. The nationwide average price for diesel fuel stood at $3.10 per gallon May 3, up 2 cents from the previous week. Diesel prices are up 37 percent from an average of $2.26 per gallon this time last year. Natural gas Natural gas spot prices increased the most recent report week (Wednesday, April 21 – Wednesday, April 28), as a late-season chill temporarily increased demand, according to the US Energy Information Administration. During the report week, the Henry Hub spot price increased by $0.23 to $4.19 per million Btu (MMBtu).
Pizza company stocks Shares in Pizza Hut parent Yum! Brands Inc. closed at $42.77 on April 30, down 67 cents compared with the previous week's close of $43.44. YUM traded at a 52-week high of $44 in May 2010 and a 52-week low of $31.54 in May 2009. Domino's closed at $15.78, down 11 cents compared with the previous Friday's close of $15.89. DPZ has traded as high as $16.32 in May 2010 and as low as $7.05 in July 2009, over the past 52 weeks. Papa John's stock closed at $28.24, down 7 cents compared with the previous Friday's close of $28.31. PZZA traded at a 52-week high of $29.25 in May 2009 a 52-week low of $21.44 in December 2009. Shares in CEC Entertainment Inc., parent company of Chuck E. Cheese restaurants, closed at $40.37, down 58 cents compared with the previous week's close of $40.95. CEC traded at a 52-week high of $41.61 in May 2010 and a 52-week low of $24.69 in October 2009. California Pizza Kitchen closed at $21.03 on April 30, down 19 cents from the previous week's close of $21.22. CPKI traded as high as $22.92 in May 2010 and as low as $12.29 in December 2009. Pizza Inn closed at $2 on April 30, up 5 cents from the previous week's close of $1.95. PZZI traded at a 52-week high of $2.25 in March 2010 and a 52-week low of $1.25 cents in May 2009.
