3 pizza families converge for free slices, good cause on May 17

To Chicagoans, pizza is sacred, so it makes sense that three of the Windy City's pizza restaurants are partnering on National Pizza Party Day —  May 17 —  to give away as many free slices as possible for 60 minutes. From noon to 1 p.m., Aurelio's Pizza, Home Run Inn and Lou Malnati's pizza restaurants will take over Maggie Daley Park to celebrate Aurelio's Pizza's 60th anniversary by giving away slices of their specialties.

"We're bringing together the traditionally south side Aurelio's Pizza, north side Lou Malnati's, and then Home Run Inn that started right in the middle, off of 31st Street," Aurelio's Pizza  President Joe Aurelio, said in the release. "There's no bigger debate in Chicago than deep dish versus thin crust pizza, but one thing we can all agree on is that Chicago has the best pizza." 

Maggie Daley Park is situated at Lake Shore Drive and Monroe Street, or it's likely you can just smell your way there.
