Aussie jetliner bears Domino's Pizza ads inside and out

BRISBANE, Aus. — A new advertising program at Domino's Pizza Australia has taken flight — literally — both inside and outside a Jetstar Boeing 717.

According to a news release, the aircraft's skin, overhead compartments, tray tables and passenger boarding passes bear ads promoting the chain's Feb. 6 launch of the Puffection pizza, which uses a puff pastry crust.

"The aircraft will land at eight airports and carry an average of 800 passengers each day," said Don Meij, chief executive of DPA. He expects more than 500,000 people will see the ads during February

"The artwork will withstand the aircraft's maximum and average cruising speed of 810 kph (500 mph) and cruise altitude of 31,000 feet," Meij added.

Jetstar chief executive Alan Joyce said Domino's is Australia's first food retailer to use this new ad medium. "We foresee advantageous outcomes for both parties through this snappy, eye-catching marketing campaign," he added.
