The Vancouver Province: A corner pizza parlor's sign is rapidly turning into an Olympic-sized public-relations nightmare for Vancouver 2010 officials.
Vancouver 2010 CEO John Furlong held out an olive branch yesterday to Mosi Alvand, a partner at Olympia Pizza on Denman Street, offering help "to get out of his dilemma."
But Alvand remained determined last night that his restaurant sign, complete with Olympic rings and torch, is staying.
"My answer is 'No,'" he said.
"I talked to my two partners over the weekend and we decided we don't want to touch our sign because our petition is close to 600 signatures."
