Blaze, Mountain Mike's open central California stores

Both Mountain Mike's and Blaze have announced store openings in the grizzly bear state of California. Mountain Mike's Pizza said it has opened in the Cypress Plaza Shopping Center in Monterey, at Abrego and Fremont streets, according to a news release.

The Central Coast store has both a full bar and a salad bar to augment its pizza and wings selections. The 5,000-square-foot restaurant features the brand's most updated restaurant design, kids' activity room with arcade games, seated bar counter and plenty of big screen TVs. The store is operated by franchisee Kamaljit Singh Dhaliwal and his wife, Kanwalbir Kaur. Mountain Mike's now has more than 200 units in California, Oregon, Nevada and Utah. 

Further south, outside of Fresno, Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza is opening its 2,400-square-foot Porterville store Thursday, June 13. The open kitchen restaurant seats 62, with an outside patio as well. 

Longtime Porterville resident Martha Olmos is the franchisee at the helm of this location, which will have the brand's traditional free pizza giveaway to those who download its app on Thursday, as well.
