Blaze opening in Canada, California

Blaze is opening two locations this week — one in Surrey, British Columbia, in Canada and another on Betteravia Road in Santa Maria, California, a news release said. The Canadian store is in the Grandview Corners on 161A Street and seats 56.  

Franchisee Jared Taylor owns the Surrey store, while Martha Olmos operates the 2,500-square-foot unit in Santa Maria that seats 52, with room for 32 more guests outside.

To celebrate, both stores are giving brand followers on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook free build-your-own pizzas on Friday, while offering a turn-key in-restaurant fundraiser program that returns 20 percent of an event's proceeds back to local organizations.
