LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After sliding nearly 13 cents in five trading sessions, prices for block cheddar remained unchanged at $1.45 during May 25 trading at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
The price meltdown comes on the heels of a 14-cent run-up staged two weeks ago when blocks traded at $1.42.
All year long analysts have predicted the cash cheese market would be volatile given the current steady balance between supply and demand.
