Following last week's episode of TNT's new cooking competition series "On the Menu," California Pizza Kitchen has added the winning Korean Barbecue pizza in participating restaurants nationwide.
Also, $1 from every sale of the winning pizza will be donated to Make-A-Wish as part of California Pizza Kitchen's Inspired Acts corporate giving program.
California Pizza Kitchen CEO G.J. Hart and Senior Vice President of Culinary Innovation Brian Sullivan joined celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse on the judging panel that selected the winning pizza, with Ty Pennington serving as the show's host. "On the Menu" is produced by United Artists Media Group (an MGM company).
The Korean Barbecue pizza, created by Jessica Roy of Huntington Beach, California, is made with roasted pork in a sweet and spicy Korean Barbecue sauce on CPK's original crust. The pizza is topped with Napa cabbage, julienned pears and carrots, slivered scallions and cilantro in a Ponzu vinaigrette.
"The Korean Barbecue pizza is an exciting and unique addition to our menu," Sullivan said in a news release. "I believe the creative combination of sweet and spicy flavors will be a hit among our guests, who have come to expect a culinary adventure when dining with us."
