California Pizza Kitchen puts trendy quinoa on the menu

August 20, 2012

The rising demand for quinoa, an ancient grain that is high in protein and iron, has reached California Pizza Kitchen.

According to Zagat, the ingredient is making its debut on CPK's menu as the quinoa salad, made with arugula. It is one of five new "healthy" offerings at the chain, along with cedar plank salmon, grilled chicken chimichurri, fire-roasted chile relleno and shrimp scampi fettucine.

Just 2 ounces of pasta are used in the fettucine dish, which is filled mostly with zucchini ribbons.
