Carmela's Pizzeria intros cobranded prototype with Hershey's Ice Cream

April 17, 2014

Greenfield Farms Food Inc., parent company of Carmela's Pizzeria, has entered into an agreement with Hershey's Creamery Inc. to sell Hershey's Ice Cream within its stores.

According to a news release, Carmela's will offer Hershey products including toppings under the "Carmela's Treats" category. Carmela's Treats will include a prototype walk-up window on the company's restaurants for customers wanting ice cream during certain hours of the day.

Carmela's said it will roll-out the added concept this week and anticipates the dessert co-branding to contribute to top line sales increases within the restaurants. The agreement allows Carmela's to utilize the Hershey equipment, marketing, advertising and promotional materials developed specifically for Carmela's Pizzerias and Sports Grille.

"We are pleased to have entered into this agreement with a nationally known ice cream brand like Hershey's Creamery that has been in business since 1884 as we roll out our Carmela's Treats offerings. It is our expectation is this will be a great benefit adding to the top line in our restaurants," Greenfield CEO Ronald Heineman said in the release.
