Cheese Country-based Toppers Pizza adds (gasp!) vegan cheese items

The 65-unit Wisconsin-based, Toppers Pizza brand is launching vegan menu items featuring plant-based, dairy-free cheese from Follow Your Heart, a news release said.
The company said that its customers can "veganize" any signature pizza or Topperstix with the use of vegan mozzarella shreds, or order vegan ranch as a dipping sauce.
Toppers partnered with Milwaukee-based vegan chef, Melanie Manuel, to develop its vegan menu. Manuel used the Follow Your Heart products as key ingredients on those menu offerings.
"One of our goals is to align with restaurants like Toppers who are looking to add plant-based options to their menu," Katie Franklin, Follow Your Heart vice president of product and marketing said in the release. "Our partnership with Toppers will help introduce our products and bring more options to long-time vegans and those who are new to plant-based eating."
The three vegan pizzas topped with Follow Your Heart products include vegan Buffalo chicken-less Topper, vegan Korean BBQ chicken-less Topper and vegan Tuscano Topper.
Toppers is based in Whitewater, Wisconsin and most of its stores are located in the Midwest U.S.
