Cheese prices continue to increase

CHICAGO — Block cheese prices continue to rise, standing at $1.855 per pound on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange as of May 31, up 3.5 cents since Tuesday.
 
Cheese prices are up 55 percent from this time last year, when the price of block cheese stood at $1.20 per pound. Block cheese sold for $1.68 per pound a month ago and $1.78 per pound last week.
