LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Feb. 24 block cheese traders at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange saw prices drop nearly 2 cents to $1.1275 a pound, just below the government price support level of $1.13.
Though foodservice demand is strong, retail demand is flat, and analysts say the voluminous milk supply coming from the nation's dairy herd will pressure prices for the foreseeable future.
