Cinderella teams equal record pizza sales during NCAA

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Papa John's has estimated that Americans will eat 100 acres of pizza per day during the 2007 NCAA basketball tournament, enough pizza to fill 926,000 basketball courts.
Papa John's estimates the company will sell roughly 10 million pizzas between March 15 and April 2, the nearly three week period of NCAA tournament play.
Additionally, the success of Cinderella teams will directly effect the total consumption of pizza. Last year, Papa John's experienced record sales as a No. 11 seed sailed all the way into the semifinals.
