January 30, 2011

A Youngstown, Ohio, pizza landmark is ready to open its fifth unit after 29 years in business. Cocca’s Pizza will open in Poland, Ohio, in the spring.

According to the Youngstown Vindicator, Cocca’s also exists in New Middletown, Boardman, Canfield and Liberty, all Youngstown suburbs located in the Mahoning Valley region of the Buckeye State.

The original Cocca’s was founded in 1982 by the late Nick Cocca.

The establishments are still operated by the Cocca family and feature traditional pizza, specialty pizzas, rolls, soups, salads, wings and hot subs.

The original Boardman unit sells more than 1,000 pizzas on an average Friday.
