CPK 'plants' feet firmly in veggie-centric territory this summer

California Pizza Kitchen is jumping on the vegetable cart this summer with a bounty of summer offerings centered around fruits and vegetables. Menu items include a California Fields Salad, Strawberry Shortcake dessert, Sparkling Watermelon-Lime beverage, Sparkling Tropical Haven cocktail and the return of the Broccoli Sun-Dried Tomato Fusilli, a news release said.

In addition, CPK is introducing a veggie-forward spin on its most iconic dish, the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza, with the arrival of the BBQ Heirloom Carrot Flatbread. The dish is made with multi-colored roasted baby rainbow heirloom carrots, smoked Gouda, charred red onion petals, the chain's signature barbecue sauce and house-made ranch atop hand-stretched dough.

These LTOs follow other plant-based offerings previously introduced at the chain including Spicy Buffalo and Sticky Asian Cauliflower small plates, protein- and veggie-packed Power Bowls and Cauliflower Pizza Crust introduced last year.
