Dayton helps deliverymen avoid disaster
October 8, 2009
Police and a neighborhood group in Dayton are taking preemptive measures to protect their pizza deliverymen by compiling a "do not deliver" list for the drivers to heed, according to Dayton's WHIO.com.
The effort especially seeks to turn delivery drivers away from legally vacant houses that were recently lost to foreclosures. In July, 66-year-old pizza driver Yeung Ng was assaulted at such a house.
From WHIO.com:
Marc Suda, president of the Five Oaks Neighborhood Association, says the 'do not deliver' list now includes about 160 addresses that will be supplied to pizza shops throughout the city.
